LEGACY of the
LANDSCAPE
AN ILLUSTRATED GUIDE TO HAWAIIAN
ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES
by Patrick Vinton
Kirch; Photographs by Therese L. Babincau
If you have even just the
slightest interest in the antiquity of Hawaii, this book
is a "must." The author takes you on a grand
tour of Hawaiis past, island by island, and the
photographer gives you magnificent pictures to enhance
the recapturing of life, pre-history, as well as through
the 18th century. Many of the sites are well known;
others are more remote and either not easily accessible
or not available to the average seeker. The book does
pique the interest to return to the many heiaus, fish
ponds, petroglyph fields, etc. Take the book with you!
There are beautifully descriptive, highly
knowledgeable accounts for each of the archeological
sites. LEGACY of the LANDSCAPE is easy
and fascinating to read.
